Chris Loewer is a native of Ohio and moved to South Carolina in 1990 after serving in the US Air Force. He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a degree in Mathematics. Chris grew up as a cradle Catholic and attended a high school seminary to search out his vocation.
Professionally he has worked in several financial positions over many decades from analyst to CFO. He has been an instructor of mathematics at Greenville Technical College, and also been an active volunteer in his community, serving as the General Chair of South Carolina Swimming and a national swim official in the 1990’s. As Scoutmaster of Troop 521 located at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, he has also been the Religious Emblems Counselor for the National Catholic Committee on Scouting and currently serves as the Blue Ridge Council Advancement Chair.
At the Greenville Technical Charter High School, he is a board member serving on the Facility, Finance, and Development committees. In 2019, Fr. Longenecker approached Chris to serve as the Director of Outreach and Mother Teresa House doing outreach to the economically and housing challenged people in our local area. On a consistent basis, he develops vital relationships and communicates with many committees designed to assist the homeless in the Greenville area.
Additionally, his favorite job is being the husband of Connie (20+ years) and the father of Matthew, Caroline, and Mary Cate (all alumni or future alumni of OLR School). He believes we are called to a life of service, and that begins at home.
