Stephen was ordained a Permanent Deacon on May 24, 2014, at St. Joseph Cathedral in Manchester, New Hampshire. Though still Incardinated in the Diocese of Manchester, Deacon Steve has been granted Faculties to serve as a Deacon in the Diocese of Charleston, S.C. He is very pleased to be assigned to Our Lady of the Rosary Parish. In addition to assisting at Sunday and Weekday Liturgies, Dc. Steve will also help in serving the Church with the Pastoral Needs of the Homebound.
Prior to his Diaconate Formation and Ordination (2010-2014), Stephen attended The Ministry Institute at Notre Dame College (1998-2002). He then completed the Lay Ministry Formation Program through the Diocese of Manchester at St. Anselm College (2006-09).
Stephen is happily married to Cheryl. They met in High School, and with
God’s help, they have continued to grow more beautifully in age together. Their immediate family includes three grown children, and three grandsons. Stephen and Cheryl are both retired. Stephen worked in Industry as a Millwright. Cheryl worked in the Public School System, then moved on to Municipal Office Work. Stephen and Cheryl enjoy Music, Theater, Movies, Classic Cars, Antiques, Museums, Bookstores, Restaurants and Old Diners.
Deacon Steve is an Eagle Scout (1969). He later served ten years as Scoutmaster (1985-1996), then two more years as a District Commissioner. He has been a long time Railroad Enthusiast. He has also remained active in the Knights of Columbus. Though having many interests, Deacon Steve’s deepest passion has always been Faith and Family, Theology and Biblical Studies. He and Cheryl are blessed to have Christ Jesus at the heart of their relationship, and they are most happy to have a share in the wellspring of Christian Life that can be found at Our Lady of the Rosary.
